We all dream of getting between 10 and 12 hours of sleep every night, but our crazy lifestyles (wakeup-breakfast-get dressed-bring the kids to school-work-bring the kids back home-cook diner-homework-bath time-kids bedtime-TV-go to sleep) typically prevents us from achieving that…at least for a great number of us! If not, PLEASE tell us what your secret is in the comments below…!
And although we are ultra tired, we can’t enjoy our sleep time, because of several factors. Here are a few ways to help you get a great night’s rest!
1 - Make sure to reserve your bedroom for sleep…
… and for cuddle moments with your other half, obviously! Remove the TV, out the computer and out the game console, essentially any sources of distractions that can prevent you from sleeping better!
2 - Maintain an ideal temperature in your bedroom.
We recommend keeping the thermostat at about 18 degrees, and even to open the window if needed; this will help you sleep better, since you’ll be less warm!
3 - Don't go to bed hungry…
Or after drinking too much coffee! Your evening was a little too merry? If admittedly, too much drinking gives you the impression of sleeping “like a log”, this sleep is far from restorative; beware excesses!
4 - No physical activity before bed!
In case you had the idea to organize your next marathon just before going to bed, you should know it’s better to avoid playing sports from 2 up to 3 hours before going to bed, please take note! Of course, don’t use this argument to get out of your regular workout routine. 😉
5 - Sleep in a comfortable bed.
Obviously, even if you follow all the advice mentioned above, if your bed isn’t comfortable, you won’t enjoy the best possible sleep! If the springs of your old mattress dig into your ribs, maybe it's time to change your mattress?
A viscoelastic hybrid foam mattress can be an attractive alternative. Not only was it designed to mold itself to your body, but also to eliminate pressure points that hurt you.
These days, you could easily buy a mattress online, as simply as if you purchased any other products online. In a few clicks, you’ll receive your mattress in a box, directly to your door. What are the advantages of buying your mattress online?
You get a trial period of 100 nights to try it, instead of the few minutes you’ll get at a traditional retailer! Your sleepless nights could soon only be a bad memory!
